I am optimistic that someone is no more than 20 miles from Memphis and is willing to do a former Marine stationed at Millington almost 50 years ago a solid.
I went to college for a year in the Northeast. I left for Florida and joined the Marine Corps. While stationed at Millington, the friends i made at college came to visit and have been part of my inner circle for half a century!
The week of April 30, 2026 till Cinco de Mayo (May 5,) we are getting together in Memphis. Some are coming from the Northeast, Florida, Dallas, and I am traveling from San Antonio in my livable van. They are all hotel types. I am not so much!
I am looking for a situation where I can park and live in my van for a week. I will need to plug in electric and have access to a bathroom. Also, my beer drinking buddies and I enjoy partying and bars and hotels are not appealing.
If possible we would party where I am staying. We are old, respectful, and fun.
Since I am coming from San Antonio to Memphis via Dallas and back to San Antonio, I am looking to make gas money moving a person or 2 either way. My van is big! 7 people and luggage etc. is no problem. And I can tow a utility trailer, an RV, a car, your tiny house....
The moving part is independent of the staying in Memphis part. Or it can be a package deal. There will be enough drivers to drive non stop, saving on hotels and time.
