Midtown-based pop rock band is looking for drums, bass, and potentially someone who can play some lead guitar and a bit of keys to play live this year. My drummer friend (studio work only) and I recorded our first album this year and my goal is to play this album out (along with many other originals that's I've written that are ready to go for a full band). I play rhythm guitar, write, sing lead (played keys/everything except drums on album).
2. Bass (Ability to sing harmonies is very important for this position)
And depending on responses and who is available --
3. Someone who can double on some Guitar Leads and Keyboard (listen to the songs and style and you'll see a need for a 4th member only if the right person is interested/fits)
Absolutely need band members who can sing back up/harmonies/falsetto, for bass in particular.
Influences include: Beatles, Stones, Big Star, Radiohead, Weezer, Arcade Fire, The National, Tom Petty, 80's/90's Pop Rock
I'm in my 30's and live in midtown -- I have a day job and young kids so please keep this in mind with regards to commitments. I'd like to ultimately play a few gigs a month and try to build a following. Being able to play places like Lafayette's, Huey's, other Bars, outdoor events, etc. would be ideal. Rehearsals and/or gigging would need to be evenings, or on the weekend.
I have a small'ish practice/recording basement studio with drums/PA in midtown -- it can fit three people and four would be a stretch. Rehearing somewhat quiet is a necessity if at night due to children. So, if someone looking to join, the drummer in particular, has a practice space, that would be more ideal. No drugs, drama, or anything of that form.
I'd like to begin putting this together in the next month and ultimately I'd like to have weeknight or weekend gigs every few weeks in the future. Look forward to hearing from you if you fit what is above and after you've listened to the album to make sure you are interested in the music style, too.
