*** Never used LONG LEAF PINE shiplap siding, ALL architectural specified FARMHOUSE PLANKS PREMIUM GRADE, EXTRA DOUBLE KILN DRIED Kiln Dried to BELOW 8%, to get Premium # 1, the mill starts with longer lengths but has to cut of the defects in the process. This allows for almost 00% usage, almost no warped, twisted, side to side bends, no holes, and poorly milled edges, just Premium # 1 shiplap siding remains
Grades and moisture content make a Hugh difference:
1.) Kiln dried to ONLY 10% to 14% will likely continue to warp, twist and crack once installed, dried to EXTRA DOUBLE KILN BELOW 8% will NOT
2.) Premium # 1 grade (HIGHEST GRADE PRODUCED) is two to 3 grades higher than sold at lumber yards and home centers. The Premium # 1 is 100% usable, no warps, twist, cracks, holes, just about as perfect of a board as is manufactured.
LONG LEAF PINE is more stable than inferior white or other pines, meaning your shiplap will look the same years after installing
*1.) Letting the last 2 pallets of 8 foot long pallets of Premium # 1 grade go in full pallet with 1,280 square feet each at 75 cents per lineal foot ( 384 eight foot boards per pallet) which is $1.80 per square foot ($6.50 per board) = $2,304.00 per pallet
--- Will divide pallets 81 1/4 cents per lineal foot, which is $1.95 per square foot or $6.50 per board - Minimum of 267.00 square feet purchased at a time --
