To the best of my knowledge and research, this storage auction find is a late 19th century Steamboat Pilot Wheel. Hand-hewn hub with brass inserts indicative of late 19th century craftsmanship. Extremely rare, only 1/2 dozen known to exist. For scale, the human in the image is 6 ft tall and is standing in front of a 10x10 storage room. As-is.
