I'm a significantly independent person when it comes to ideals and making decisions. I'm not a very socially independent person. I am not codependent; I just prefer not to do things alone though I enjoy being alone at times. I am college-educated. My degrees are in the humanities: I have studied English, French, Spanish, politics, theatre, sociology, and I really try to stay on top of current events and what's going on in the world. I'm very leftist in my political leanings, and I would prefer everyone else be, too. I do, however, enjoy a good discussion or debate. I always enjoy learning things, hearing good stories and good jokes, reading new things, and sharing what I know, too.
I'm one of those people who are seemingly everything: I can cook. I speak three languages. I read most everything. I love animals. I am a good speller (the most important characteristic in a potential mate, of course). I'm nice. I'm sassy. I'm a critical thinker. I'm HILARIOUS and will make you pee your pants laughing. I love to sing (though I'm mediocre at best), write, chat, watch movies, ghost-hunt, play games (Scrabble, Trivial Pursuit, Canasta, etc.), fix things (I'm really good with thumbtacks, glue, tape, and scissors.). . .
But I do have my negative traits, too. I can be pretty passive-aggressive though I pride myself in my straightforward attitude. I do get moody from time to time. I snore like a banshee (it's an issue with my tonsils: they're huge.). I'm overweight. I smoke cigarettes. . . and I occasionally smoke the green stuff (if it's presented to me by another friend, of course.). I can be messy, but usually like to keep things really neat. I am self-deprecating (but who isn't to a certain degree?).
I have other characteristics, too. [I'll let you decide if they're bad or good.] I'm vegetarian, but I don't care if you're not. I'm allergic to cats, but I love to pet them. I'm not a virgin (and am the receptive partner). I consume inhuman amounts of coffee. I am addicted to Diet Dr. K--the Kroger knock-off of Diet Dr. Pepper. I am currently a graduate student and, therefore, don't make a lot of money. I get by and can afford some nice things (like electricity, water, gas, rent, dog food, people food, . . .). I am effeminate, but I am not a flamer. I don't wear Prada or Gucci or even Abercrombie. I used to, but I grew out of that phase. Because I'd rather spend my money on books and my WKNO (NPR) membership. I am HIV negative. I have psoriasis (but am in remission, if that exists for psoriasis patients). And I wear glasses.
What about you? As long as you're near my age (+/- five years or so), aren't a complete douchebag or one of those people I described earlier. . . we might make a could match.
