I am a 32yr old married Mom offering superior home child care in my Collierville home. My home is extremely clean (no smoke/alcohol/pets/drugs) and in an excellent neighborhood (Crystal Lakes Subdivision off Shelton) . I offer Mothers day out, full time and part time care for children NB and up. I am open M-F with the exception of holidays. My hours are flexible but I only offer day time care. I do offer occasional evening and weekend babysitting though.

I have been providing just that for the past 6 years. I have a separate area of my home set up like a preschool. We have play centers just like a preschool and spend our days following a flexible schedule so the children always know what's next. We have learning time, art and crafts time, movement and music time, show and tell, games and so much more. You will find a play kitchen & doll nursery, an indoor wooden playhouse with slide, trains, cars, puppets, lots of games and books, blocks of every kind, cars, a tool bench and so much more in the main play room. I do have another area set up just for infants with equipment and toys just for them! I will not keep more than 2 infants at a time so that we may provide the best care for them and always have someone available to fulfill their needs. At nap time, the toddlers sleep on nap mats listening to soft classical music. infants are given their own rooms in a comfy travel yard with white noise playing so they can relax comfortably, as needed, throughout their day. Outside in my fenced back yard there is an infant play house, a toddler/big kids little tykes playhouse/slide with a rock wall, trikes and bikes, balls and other toddler sports equipment.
I serve hot meals and healthy snacks including milk (at meal time and snack) and 100% juice (once a day). We practice healthy eating and cleaning habits as well as learn proper manners.
This is not a babysitting service..this is a hands on learning center. My assistant and I stay very involved with the children. My child ratio is never over 1:4 but usually averages 4-5 children per day. My child turn over rate is low. We play outdoors everyday, weather permitting. Even when the children are at play, we use it as an opportunity to learn. Your child will learn here and have a blast doing it! You will get a daily sheet to tell you about your little one's day, and we send home our daily art and crafts every Friday for the whole week. During the week, their work is displayed as this helps the children recall what shape, letter, color and number we are learning that week. We also have monthly themes and talk about other countries and cities. Every morning at circle time, we talk about the weather for the day and the day of the week. Every child takes a turn each day being the super helper of the day. Potty trainers are welcome and we have been very successful in assisting parents with training.
I use time out as a last resort for discipline. I rarely have to resort to this as the children stay so busy all day. A bored child leads to a mischievous one. :) We always have the children try to work through their problems first by getting down on their level. We help them make good choices and talk problems out in order to find the best solution.
I feel the care I offer is superior to any other care I have seen in the Memphis area. I offer over 10 years of paid experience in the child care field. I also worked in medical offices for a number of years. Both my assistant and I are trained in CPR and take a class every year to refresh at Methodist Germantown. I am doing this because it is my passion not because I think it's an easy way to make some money. Home child care is flooded right now with people that should not be caring for kids in their homes because the economy is so bad. I am not one of these people.
I have some college background in Early Education and my assistant is currently in college for her Accounting degree. My husband has an elementary teaching degree and our family is well established and known in the Memphis area. I also have excellent references!!
