Calling all junior photographers, through age 15! Grab your cameras and take part in
our 1st annual junior photographer competition & exhibition, whilst helping out a
worthy local cause at the same time. Merrick Photography is holding its 1st annual
junior photographer competition, with 50% of the entry fees being donated to our
selected partner charity, Fayette Cares.
In addition to helping Fayette Cares we have six exciting cash awards – three prizes
in each of two age groups:
- Ages through 11
- Ages 12 through 15
1st prize in each group is $75, 2nd prize is $50 and 3rd prize is $25
The theme for this year’s competition is: “What I Am Thankful For…” and entries
should be submitted as an 8 x 10 print that communicates the theme before the closing
date of Wednesday 18th November 2009. Each junior photographer may submit up to 3
entries. The entry fees are:
- 1 entry: $7.50
- 2 entries: $12.50
- 3 entries: $15.00
The theme is open to your interpretation using either film or digital photography.
Think about something you are thankful for in your life and how you might describe
that to someone else using only a photograph. It could be your family, a pet, your
home, something special to you, or anything else you feel thankful for…
Let your imagination and creativity run wild and, above all, have fun!!
The entries will be judged by two independent jurors to provide 100 finalists, which
will be proudly exhibited as part of Merrick Photography’s Grand Opening on 21st
November 2009. Guests will be asked to vote for their favourite entries and the
prizes will be awarded that evening.
